ZAMBOANGA CITY- The local government of Zamboanga has suspended classes in all levels on Thursday, August 20, to pave the way for clean up activities in all campuses to prevent the spread of dengue.
The local government of Zamboanga launched last Monday the “Guerra Contra Dengue,” a week-long campaign to prevent the spread of dengue in the community.
Classes were also suspended due to the high heat index which is forecasted to reach extreme caution level.
School authorities have been advised to use other learning modalities to ensure the continuity of education.
This is the second time that classes were suspended this week after the Day of Mourning declaration on Wednesday after a school shooting at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University which left two students dead.
