ZAMBOANGA CITY- Vice President Sara Duterte went to a local hospital here on Wednesday, August 19, to visit a student injured in the Ateneo de Zamboanga University shooting that left two students dead.
Duterte extended her sympathies to the victims and their families and assured them of support from the Office of the Vice President. She described the incident as a difficult time for the entire community.
In a statement, she underscored the need for students, teachers, and school employees to receive psychological support to help them recover from the tragedy.
The Vice President is also batting for stronger anti-bullying programs and psychosocial wellness programs in schools.
Meanwhile, Duterte also raised concerns over access to social media by minors, saying the government should consider regulating online platforms to protect children from harmful content.
