Senior arrested for allegedly slapping woman's buttocks inside jeepney
A 62-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly slapped a 27-year-old woman’s buttocks while they were riding a jeepney in Sampaloc, Manila, on Tuesday night, August 18.
The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the 62-year-old suspect, who is a resident of Mendoza Street, Sampaloc.
According to the victim’s account, Fria allegedly suddenly slapped her left buttock.
When she looked at the suspect, he allegedly gave her a thumbs-up, nodded, and smiled.
The victim then asked the jeepney driver to drop her off at the nearest police station, where she reported the incident.
Police officers subsequently confronted and apprehended the suspect, who was brought to the Barbosa Police Station (PS-14) at around 11:50 p.m.

Police said the suspect was informed of his constitutional rights pursuant to Republic Act No. 7438, which provides for the rights of persons arrested, detained, or under custodial investigation.
He was later brought to the Ospital ng Sampaloc for medical and physical examination.
The suspect is set to undergo inquest proceedings for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 11313, or the Safe Spaces Act, also known as the Bawal Bastos Law.
