Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto‑Rubiano has called for a long‑term solid waste management strategy as the city opened deliberations on its 10‑Year Solid Waste Management Plan, which targets stronger segregation, recycling, and community participation.
The plan aims to boost programs on waste reduction while improving barangay and community involvement in keeping the city clean.
Rubiano led the deliberations, where city officials and stakeholders discussed long‑term strategies and possible solutions to Pasay’s solid waste concerns.
The proposed plan is expected to provide a comprehensive framework for the city’s waste management programs and guide their implementation over the next decade.
The mayor emphasized the need for sustained cooperation among the city government, barangays, and residents, particularly in practicing proper waste segregation and disposal.
The deliberation was held in coordination with the Pasay City Environment and Natural Resources Office (PCENRO) and other concerned sectors.
Rubiano said that the initiative is part of efforts to promote a cleaner, healthier, and more environmentally sustainable Pasay City.
