Frontline and vital offices of the Muntinlupa City government continued operations on Wednesday, Aug. 19, to serve the public.
Malacañang directed government offices to implement alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and other areas due to continuous rains brought by the southwest monsoon.
Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon said city government offices open on Aug. 19 include the Business Permits and Licensing Office, Social Services Department, Public Order and Safety Office, Kalingang Munti Action Center, Local Civil Registry Office, Muntinlupa City Public Market, City Security Office, Environmental Sanitation Center, Lake Management Office, Office of the Building Official, Office of the City Assessor, and the City Treasurer’s Office.
Also operational are offices responsible for health and disaster response, including the City Health Office, Ospital ng Muntinlupa, City Engineering Department, and the Department of Disaster Resilience and Management. Work in other offices was suspended.
Flooding occurred in low‑lying areas of Muntinlupa, including those along Laguna Lake.
As of 2 p.m., the water level at Laguna Lake stood at 12.35 meters, within the normal and safe transition range and below the critical high level of 12.5 meters, according to the Laguna Lake Development Authority.
