For 15 days, P18-M drugs seized in W. Visayas

ILOILO CITY—For the first half of August 2026, more than P18 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by cops in Western Visayas region.

In a statistical report, the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) disclosed 2.66 kilograms of suspected shabu (crystal meth) and 14 grams of marijuana were seized by various police operatives from August 1-15.

PRO-6 data also showed that 76 drug suspects were arrested in 63 anti-drug operations. Of the 76, at least 24 are classified as high-value individuals (HVIs) and were street-level individuals (SLIs).

“Hindi lamang natin tinutugis ang mga nagbebenta sa lansangan pero tinutukoy din natin ang mga nasa likod ng kanilang operasyon at distribution networks (We are not only pursuing street-level sellers; we are also identifying those behind their operations and distribution networks,” said PRO-6 director Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño.

In terms of the value of illegal drugs, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (PPO) had the most valuable seizure with P10.7 million. The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) had a seizure of P2.79 million while PRO-6’s Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU-6) had a seizure of P2.55 million.

In terms of accomplishment, the ICPO had the most number of operations with 27 while Iloilo PPO ranked second with 17.
