BTS, Cortis among nominees at 2026 MTV Video Music Awards

K-pop stars are making their mark at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), with several of the genre’s biggest names earning nominations for the Sept. 27 ceremony.

Madonna leads this year’s nominations with 11, followed by Taylor Swift with nine.

BTS scored two nominations for their hit song “Swim,” earning nods for Song of the Year and Best K-pop.

“So excited to be nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ & ‘Best K-Pop’ at the 2026 #VMAs! #BTSARMY, thank you for all your endless love and support,” BTS posted on X.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa, meanwhile, received four nominations for “Dream feat. Kentaro Sakaguchi.” The song is in the running for Best Pop, Best K-pop, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing.

Rookie group Cortis also made an early mark at the VMAs, earning its first nominations for Best New Artist and Best K-pop for “RedRed.”

“What a moment. can't believe we're VMAs nominees,” the five-member group wrote on X.

Joining BTS, Lisa, and Cortis in the Best K-pop category are BLACKPINK for “Jump,” Katseye for “Pinky Up,” and Le Sserafim for “Spaghetti (feat. J-Hope of BTS).”

Fan voting is now open for 13 categories through Sept. 25 at vote.mtv.com.
