Manila logs 8 new leptospirosis cases amid continued flooding
Manila recorded eight new leptospirosis cases on Tuesday, Aug. 18, as heavy rains and flooding continued to affect several parts of the city.
The latest figures from the Manila City Health Department (MHD) showed that the city had recorded 156 leptospirosis cases from Jan. 1 to Aug. 18, including the eight cases reported on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Manila also recorded 18 new dengue cases on Aug. 18, bringing the city’s year-to-date total to 2,276 cases.
The Manila City Health Department also reported 11 new influenza-like illness cases, bringing the total to 959, while one new confirmed COVID-19 case raised the year-to-date total to 84.
