LOOK: Celebrities brave floods, heavy traffic as Habagat drenches Metro Manila

It was a day of flooded roads, stalled vehicles, long traffic jams and canceled plans as celebrities took to social media to share how they dealt with the heavy rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Metro Manila received 201.7 millimeters of rain in just five hours on Monday—nearly half of the 455 millimeters recorded over 24 hours during Tropical Storm Ondoy in 2009.
With the downpour showing no signs of letting up, some celebrities found themselves braving flooded streets and hours-long traffic just to get where they needed to be.

Actor Vince Maristela documented his journey through flooded roads, eventually choosing to walk because it was faster than riding in a car.
He also showed the heavy traffic, stranded motorists and damaged sidewalks he encountered along the way before finally reaching his destination.

Pokwang

Actress and comedian Pokwang, meanwhile, found herself stuck in traffic for almost three hours while trying to make it to the Cinemalaya awards night.

“3 hrs na kami sa daan! Aabot kaya ako sa awards night ng Cinemalaya?” she wrote in a video, while another clip showed their vehicle making its way through flooded roads.

To those not in the know, she did make it to the awards night and actually won best actress.
Betong
Just when things couldn’t get any worse, Betong found another way to beat the traffic.
He shared a video showing flooded streets along Quezon Avenue and, rather than risk driving his car through the flood, opted to take the MRT to get to the office.

Kim Chiu
Despite the rainy season, 'It's Showtime' host Kim Chiu still showed up to work while feeling a little bit gloomy.
"Raining outside, and everything feels a little sad and gloomy… ☁️☔️????️ But still dressing up, showing up, and choosing to see the sunshine in everything we do. ☀️????????♂️????????," Kim wrote on her post.

Jon Lucas also shared a video showing the heavy traffic and acknowledged that he wasn’t the only one struggling to get through the rain.
He urged everyone to stay safe, reminding his followers that despite the delays and canceled events, getting home safely was what mattered most.
