Filipinos with US, EU, UK visas can now get UAE visa upon arrival — DFA

Filipino travelers holding valid regular Philippine passports may avail themselves of a visa upon arrival in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under updated guidelines and requirements, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Tuesday, August 18.
The DFA said the updated policy covers Filipinos who hold valid visas or residence permits issued by certain countries, subject to validity requirements and approval by UAE immigration authorities.
Who can avail themselves of the UAE visa upon arrival?
According to the DFA, Filipino citizens with valid Philippine passports may qualify if they hold valid visas or residence permits issued by the United States, countries in the European Union, or the United Kingdom.
Filipinos with valid residence permits issued by Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore, or New Zealand are also eligible.
The Philippine passport and the applicable visa, residence permit, or Green Card must each be valid for at least six months upon application for the traveler to qualify for the UAE visa upon arrival.
UAE visa-upon-arrival fees and stay options
Eligible Filipino travelers may choose between two visa-upon-arrival options.
The 14-day visa costs AED 100 and may be extended once for an additional 14 days for a fee of AED 250.
The 60-day visa costs AED 250 and is not extendable, according to the DFA.
Where Filipinos can apply
Applications may be filed at UAE airports or through the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) Smart Services website.
Applicants who use the ICP Smart Services website will be charged an additional AED 150 ICP Smart Services fee for each request.
“The issuance of a visa upon arrival and admission into the UAE remain subject to the assessment and approval of the relevant UAE immigration authorities,” the DFA said.
Travelers are advised to ensure that their passports and qualifying visas or residence permits meet the required validity period before traveling.
