Fans leak photos of Abbey Road scene in Sam Mendes' Beatles biopic

The actors playing The Beatles in Sam Mendes’ upcoming biopic were spotted filming a scene at London’s famous Abbey Road crossing.

Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan, Paul Mescal and Joseph Quinn, who play John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney and George Harrison, respectively, were filmed walking across the iconic zebra crossing outside Abbey Road Studios.

The scene echoes the famous image used for the cover of The Beatles’ 1969 album “Abbey Road.”

The forthcoming project, announced by Mendes in 2024, will consist of four interconnected films, each told from the perspective of one Beatle.

Sony Pictures is backing the project, with McCartney and Starr granting their permission alongside the estates of Lennon and Harrison.

The original "Abbey Road" cover was photographed on August 8, 1969 by freelance photographer Iain Macmillan. The Beatles had initially considered traveling to Nepal for the album photo, but ultimately took the now-famous image just outside the studio.

The cast also includes Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, James Norton as Brian Epstein, and Lucy Boynton as Jane Asher.

The four Beatles films are scheduled to be released in April 2028.
