The Department of Justice has filed five criminal cases against Marikina 1st District Rep. Marcelino “Marcy” R. Teodoro in connection with the alleged sexual assault on two female police officers.
DOJ spokesman Raphael Niccolo Martinez said the four counts of sexual assault and one count of acts of lasciviousness were already filed before the Regional Trial Court of Marikina along with a transmittal of the records of the cases.
“The Department of Justice confirms the filing of five (5) criminal cases against Marikina City 1st District Representative Marcelino “Marcy” R. Teodoro involving two (2) female police officers who previously served as his security personnel,” Martinez said.
“The cases are now under the court’s jurisdiction and shall proceed in accordance with the Rules of Court for the conduct of trial,” he added.
The complaints were filed against Teodoro in September last year before the DOJ wherein one of the female cops claimed that she was sexually assaulted repeatedly while the one said she was sexually harassed by Teodoro.
The DOJ immediately conducted an investigation into the incident to determine if there were sufficient pieces of evidence that back the allegations of the two female police officers.
Teodoro earlier denied the allegations and even filed perjury charges before the Manila Prosecutors Office against the two policewomen.
The Manila Bulletin will publish Teodoro’s comment on this recent development once it is available.
