2 HVIs arrested in Pampanga drug bust; P2.05-M suspected drugs seized

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Two high-value individuals (HVIs) were arrested and more than P2.05 million worth of suspected illegal drugs were seized in a buy-bust operation by police in Barangay Juliana here early Tuesday, August 18.
At around 4:15 a.m. joint personnel of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 3 (RPDEU3) and Regional Special Operations Group 3 (RSOG3), with support from the San Fernando City Police Station and coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 3 conducted the buy bust.
Police identified the suspects as two men, aged 32 and 26, both classified as HVIs.
Recovered during the operation were approximately 300 grams of suspected shabu valued at P2.04 million and around five grams of suspected marijuana, or “kush,” valued at P8,500.
The seized substances had a combined standard drug price of P2,048,500.
Authorities also recovered a black Mitsubishi Xpander, two cellular phones, and P200,000 in buy-bust money consisting of one genuine P1,000 bill and 199 pieces of P1,000 boodle money.
PRO3 Regional Director PBGen Jess B. Mendez commended the operating units, and said their operation reflects the police force’s continuing efforts to prevent illegal drugs from reaching communities.
He also encouraged the public to continue providing information on suspicious activities, emphasizing that community cooperation remains crucial in the campaign against illegal drugs.
Charges for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the arrested suspects.
