Ynares, himself a musician and founder of the All Binangonan Artists Association (ABAA), said the group’s success reflects the province’s rich artistic heritage.
Android-18, a six-member pop-rock/pop-punk band formed in 2011 in Binangonan, Rizal, will perform in Bangkok, Thailand on September 12 under Yellow Room Music Philippines, alongside Filipino rock icon Mayonnaise.
The concert will be held at Blueprint Livehouse, a 200-capacity venue known for showcasing original and independent artists.
Founding member Koy Quevedo said during a press conference that their performance will highlight the innate artistry of Rizal Province.
The band is expected to play a mix of English songs and their popular hits including “Teleserye,” “Alanganin,” “KSP,” “Sentimental,” and “Langit,” which have collectively earned millions of streams and built a strong following online.
The group’s members trace their roots to various towns in Rizal and nearby provinces. Siblings Gela and Koy Quevedo are from Binangonan, guitarist Makoi Mendoza is from San Mateo, Niokz Arcega—also an independent film director—lived in Angono before moving to Cainta, bassist Kevs Ortillo grew up in Teresa before relocating to Antipolo, while drummer Ian Moral hails from Cavite.
Android-18 first performed publicly in 2012 at the Binangonan Gym alongside Silent Sanctuary.
Their first international concert was in Taiwan in 2025, and Thailand now marks their second overseas gig.

The Bangkok audience will include Filipino overseas workers and residents, as well as local Thai music fans, offering a cultural exchange where Rizal’s artistry will be showcased on an international stage.
