BACOLOD CITY - The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Island Region (PDEA-NIR) seized 620 grams of suspected shabu valued at P4.2 million from a 41-year-old driver in a drug bust in Barangay Villamonte here on Saturday, August 15.
Busted was Jimmy, a resident of Barangay Bata here, who allegedly yielded six plastic bags and four sachets of suspected shabu, the marked money, and P15,000 cash.
Authorities are checking on the background of the suspect to determine the source of the contraband and his alleged links.
The arrested individual, according to PDEA-NIR, will face charges for violation of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation underscored the agency’s continuing commitment of law enforcement agencies to intensify efforts against the illegal drug trade and protect communities from the harmful effects of dangerous drugs.
