One dead, another injured in Taguig shooting

A man was killed while another was injured in a shooting incident on Monday morning, Aug. 17, in Taguig City.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said the shooting occurred amid heavy rains along Pulong Kendi Street in Barangay Sta. Ana.

According to police, the unidentified male suspect was wearing a black helmet, a blue sweatshirt, and white pants, and was reportedly riding a gray motorcycle.

One victim, a 40-year-old man, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, while the other, a 21-year-old man, is currently undergoing treatment.

Upon receiving the report, personnel from Taguig Police Sub-station 4 proceeded to the area and conducted an initial investigation. They also rushed the victims to the hospital.

Authorities are now conducting CCTV backtracking operations, intelligence validation, and follow-up investigations to determine the circumstances behind the shooting and to apprehend the suspect.

The SPD urged the public to refrain from speculating about the incident.
