Kendra Kramer has come to the defense of her parents, Doug and Chesca Kramer, after they were criticized online for allegedly being too controlling and for benefiting from their children’s popularity.
In an Instagram post, Kendra said her parents have never forced her to enter show business or taken advantage of her.
“My parents have never ever taken advantage of me. I have my own social life—with my sports and with my friends. They are NOT controlling parents, only caring ones who want the best for my siblings and me,” she wrote.
Kendra said her parents even asked her if she really wanted to enter show business before she pursued it.
“They asked if it was something I wanted. And I said yes. Wholeheartedly, I love modeling, and I love doing it with my family,” she said.
As for her father’s seemingly constant presence in everything she gets involved in, Kendra said, "I ask him to come with me to all my events because I want him to be with me.”
She urged people to stop making negative assumptions about her parents.
“My parents are my role models in my life. They are the happiest, most loving couple I know. I pray one day I may find a relationship like theirs,” she said.
“It hurts me to see the people I love getting spoken about like this online. My parents are the greatest people I know, and I love my family to the bottom of my heart,” she added.
The Kramers have faced criticism over the years for frequently featuring Kendra and her siblings, Scarlett and Gavin, in Team Kramer’s social media posts and brand endorsements.
Critics have questioned whether the children are being pushed too heavily into the public eye, particularly through showbiz projects, social media content, and commercial work, instead of being allowed to simply enjoy a normal childhood.
