House elects rookie solons Bautista, Loria as committee chairpersons

TRABAHO Party-List Rep. Johanne Bautista and Albay 2nd district Rep. Carlos Loria were elected chairperson of the Committee on Social Services and chairperson of the Special Committee on Persons with Disability, respectively, as part of the ongoing reshuffle of leadership posts in the House of Representatives.
Bautista, also a lawyer by profession, has authored 112 bills, while Loria has authored 89 bills. Both are neophyte solons in the 20th Congress.
On Thursday, Bautista expressed that she was thankful to the leadership of the House of Representatives for the opportunity to serve more Filipinos and to democratize the country’s social service programs consistent with the legislative mission of TRABAHO Party-List.
“The legislative mission ofTRABAHO Party-List has always been anchored on uplifting the lives of our hardworking Filipinos and their families, and advancing policies that create inclusive and sustainable opportunities for economic and social advancement,” she posted on her page.
Meanwhile, Loria vowed tocreate real change in the lives of our fellow PWDs and their families.
New vice chairpersons were also elected, namely: San Juan City lone district Rep. Ysabel Zamora for the Committee on Climate Change, Kamalayan Party-List Rep. Caroline Tanchay for the Committee on Public Order and Safety and Sultan Kudarat 2nd district Rep. Bella Suansing for the Committee on Science and Technology.
