Dustin Yu and Bianca de Vera may have the makings of a convincing love team, but behind the chemistry are two people who could hardly be more different.

The two first worked together in “Love You So Bad,” Regal Entertainment Inc.’s official entry to the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival in December 2025. Now they are teaming up again for “Ba’t ‘Di Na Lang Tayo?,” this time with a better understanding of how the other works.

Bianca is the more sociable one. She is the type who arrives on set ready to greet everyone and, by her own admission, can be quite "makulit."

Dustin is the quieter opposite.

When preparing for a scene, he needs to isolate himself and get into the right mood.

“Pagdating pa lang sa set, nagse-set na siya ng mood so siyempre bilang co-actor niya, professionally, kailangan mong irespeto,” Bianca said.

“Hindi mo siya puwedeng kulitin kasi ako sobrang kulit. Ako yung pagdating sa set, ‘Hi everyone!’ pero si Dustin, opposite ko,” she added.

Their differences also show up in how they approach their love-team roles.

Being close friends helps, but Bianca learned that friendship alone does not create screen chemistry. They have to separate who they are as friends from who they are as a love team.

“Siyempre kailangan na i-separate pa rin namin kung ano ba talaga kami bilang isang love team at bilang mag-bestfriend na sobrang close kasi magkaiba ’yon,” she said.

“There’s a thin line between the two.”

For Dustin, understanding Bianca’s rhythm as an actress and co-star is important in making their partnership work.

Bianca brings the energy; Dustin brings the focus. They work differently, but they have learned how to make those differences work for them and, hopefully, for the love team.
