A portion of a condominium building’s roof-deck ceiling fell onto a road along Samar Avenue in Barangay South Triangle, Quezon City amid strong rain and winds on Monday morning, Aug. 17.
The ceiling section detached from the 17-story residential tower at around 8:30 a.m., according to a barangay enforcement officer who witnessed the incident.
The falling debris startled residents and passersby in the area, but no person or passing vehicle was hit.
The debris was quickly cleared from the road, but an electrical cable was hit, resulting in a temporary power interruption at the condominium.
Filinvest Land, in a statement, said its property management team immediately took precautionary measures and installed safeguards to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
