ZAMBOANGA CITY- Face to face classes were suspended here on Monday, August 17, due to high heat index.
Mayor Khymer Olaso suspended classes in all levels in both private and public schools after the heat index was forecast to reach 41 degrees Celsius.
High temperatures have been prevailing in Zamboanga for the past two weeks despite the inclement weather experienced in other parts of the country.
Meanwhile, Olaso also advised the public to take necessary precautions against heat stroke and other related diseases brought about by the rise in temperature.
Work in public and private offices continues despite the class suspension.
