Cherry Pie Picache is still single following her breakup with Edu Manzano.
The two had talked about marriage, although Cherry Pie admitted she had reservations about taking that step, having never been married before.
They eventually went their separate ways.
Edu has since found new love, while Cherry Pie remains on her own.
She is unbothered by it, but admits she remains hopeful that she, too, will find someone to love.
“Oo. Kung mangyayari. Kung hindi, e, di hindi,” Cherry Pie said.
Asked if she is dating somebody at the moment, she was quick to answer:
“Wala pa.”
Cherry Pie’s son, Nio, is now 24 and is becoming increasingly independent, leaving the actress to embrace what she describes as her own version of empty-nest life.
“He’s busy with work. In his own na, e. Oo. May sarili na siyang schedule. May sarili na siyang activities, di ba? So, it’s getting there.”
And so, Cherry Pie is also making room in her life for the possibility of love.
“Nagdadasal na ako ng partner,” she said, laughing.
Perhaps that is the beauty of being single at this point in life. There is no need to rush, settle or force anything.
For Cherry Pie, and for anyone who find themselves on the same boat, there is still so much life to live, and perhaps, somewhere along the way, someone to share it with.
Until then, being on your own does not mean being alone.
