Educational institutions play an important role in building well-rounded communities by providing access to learning, developing talent, and supporting local economic growth. As Aseana City continues to expand as a mixed-use district, the arrival of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) and its new Delfin J. Wenceslao Jr. Campus will add higher education to the growing community and strengthen its role as a place to live, work, and study.
The 3,845-sqm campus will house Benilde’s School of Environment and Design and the School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) – Analytics, Computing, and Infotech (ACI) Cluster. Its programs can help build the IT-BPM talent pool while creating opportunities for companies to partner with the college through internships and recruitment.
The new institution honors the late Delfin J. Wenceslao Jr., former president and chairman of D.M. Wenceslao and Associates Inc. (DMWAI). Founded by his father, Engr. Delfin Wenceslao Sr., in 1965, the company was involved in Aseana City’s development through its work in land reclamation. The project is being developed in collaboration with DMWAI and Wendel Holdings Co. Inc., connecting the campus to the district’s wider development.

Designed by architect Ed Calma, design principal of Lor Calma and Partners, the campus reflects an approach that connects architecture with the needs of its students and the wider community. Calma also designed Benilde’s Design + Arts Campus in Malate, Manila, near Pablo Ocampo Street.
Lor Calma and Partners said the design focuses on how the building can support creativity, sustainability, and community. In an Instagram post announcing the winning proposal, the firm said, “This project marks a bold step forward in uniting space, sustainability, and community. The building’s envelope stands as a beacon—not just in form, but in purpose—creating a space that nurtures emerging designers. Its shape is visible to all, but the vision and journey behind it are what truly define it.”

The campus will be accessible from key areas in the city, with a travel time of about 14 minutes by LRT from Taft. Its addition will expand the district’s existing educational offering, bringing tertiary education closer to residents and professionals while complementing schools such as Nord Anglia International School Manila and Junior Starters School.
The project broke ground on Nov. 28, 2025, with representatives from DLS-CSB, DMWAI, and Wendel Holdings Co. Inc. taking part in the ceremony. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027, with the campus set to welcome students for the 2027–2028 academic year.
With the new campus, Aseana City continues to expand beyond its commercial and residential functions, adding an institution that can contribute to the district’s long-term growth. Benilde’s presence further supports its development as a mixed-use community where education, business, and everyday needs come together.
