Dark and thick clouds blanketed the skies over the Lindner Family Tennis Center, prompting officials to temporarily stop the play with Eala comfortably ahead, 6-1, 3-0.

“Play has been suspended due to inclement weather approaching. Please seek shelter,” said Cincinnati Open on its official X account.

As of press time, there’s no official word yet when the match will resume.

Earlier, the contest was also briefly halted after a fan collapsed on the bleachers amid humid weather conditions.
Ruse also called a medical timeout prior to the pause to address what appeared to be a right foot injury.
