SHINee members Key and Onew have been questioned by South Korean authorities as part of a widening investigation into an alleged unlicensed medical practitioner known as the “Injection Aunt.”

The probe has drawn attention in South Korea after several celebrities were linked to the woman, identified by her surname, Lee. Authorities are investigating whether she provided medical services without the required license and whether the people who sought her services knew she was not legally authorized to practice medicine.

Key and Onew were among the public figures questioned as police worked to establish how they came into contact with Lee and what they understood about her professional credentials.

The controversy first gained major attention after comedian Park Na-rae was called in for questioning in May over allegations involving medication she allegedly received from Lee. The investigation has since expanded to other personalities who may have received treatment or medication from the woman.

Griffin Entertainment, Onew's agency, said the SHINee singer had been referred to a clinic where he believed Lee was a doctor or a medical professional affiliated with the facility.

According to the agency, Onew sought skin care treatment and had no reason to suspect that Lee lacked a valid medical license.

Griffin also said Onew had already cooperated with investigators and provided an account of his interactions with Lee.

The agency appealed for restraint while authorities continue their investigation, warning against speculation or claims that do not match the facts established by investigators.

SM Entertainment had previously commented on Key's involvement in the controversy.

The agency said Key only discovered that Lee was allegedly not a doctor after the issue surrounding her medical license became public. It added that the SHINee member was “very confused and deeply regrets his lack of awareness.”

Key had taken a break from entertainment activities beginning in December 2025 and returned to the spotlight in May with SHINee's sixth EP, “Atmos.”

South Korean authorities are examining whether Lee treated people in locations including officetels and vehicles and allegedly provided prescription medication without the proper authority.

Practicing medicine without a license can carry criminal penalties in South Korea. Investigators are also looking into whether individuals who received services from Lee were aware of her alleged lack of credentials.

The probe remains ongoing, and no final determination has been made regarding the celebrities' involvement or what they knew about Lee's professional status.
