A man who allegedly snatched a woman’s P30,000 gold necklace in Barangay Balingasa, Quezon City, was identified and charged with Theft, police said.
The victim reported the incident to a police officer at an outpost at around 4:08 p.m. on July 21 and described the suspect as wearing a gray T-shirt and black shorts.
Police assisted the victim and reviewed available CCTV footage in the area.
She was advised to proceed to the police station to file a formal complaint but opted to go home due to personal reasons.
Following the incident, QCPD investigators conducted a follow-up investigation.
The victim later identified alias “Rustom,” 25, a resident of Barangay Canalate, City of Malolos, Bulacan, through the station’s E-Rogue Gallery as the person who allegedly took her necklace.
The suspect remains at large.
Police filed a complaint for Theft through direct filing against Rustom on July 29.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) clarified that the Facebook post about the incident circulating on social media was a rehashed post.
It urged the public to verify information before sharing or reposting social media posts to avoid confusion.
