Marvel unveils new 'X-Men' cast for MCU debut

Marvel Studios has officially assembled its new X-Men team for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The new X-Men film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2028.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced the cast during D23 on Friday, Aug. 14, revealing a younger lineup of mutants set to headline the upcoming film.

The cast includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Adam Driver will portray the film’s villain, Mister Sinister.

The upcoming X-Men film reboot is directed by Jake Schreier.

The script features contributions from writers Michael Lesslie, Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo.

The announcement marks the first time the iconic mutant team will appear as an official part of the MCU following the conclusion of Fox’s X-Men franchise.

Several of the original Fox-era X-Men actors are also set to return in Marvel’s upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday," where they will cross paths with the MCU’s heroes.

Meet the new ‘X-Men’ cast

Sadie Sink as Jean Grey

Sink will play Jean Grey, one of the X-Men’s most powerful members whose abilities include telekinesis and telepathy.

Kit Connor as Cyclops

Connor will portray Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops. The mutant leader can project powerful optic blasts from his eyes.

Samara Weaving as Emma Frost

Weaving will play Emma Frost, a powerful telepath who can also transform her body into diamond form.

Inde Navarrette as Rogue

Navarrette takes on Rogue. The mutant can absorb the powers and memories of others through physical contact.

Christopher Abbott as Professor X

Abbott will play Charles Xavier, the telepathic founder and leader of the X-Men.

Maya Boyd as Storm

Boyd joins the MCU as Ororo Munroe, better known as Storm, a mutant capable of controlling the weather.

Adam Driver as Mister Sinister

Driver will portray Mister Sinister, the villainous mutant scientist and geneticist who will serve as the team’s major adversary.
