Avid fan buys late Pilita Corrales' house in Parañaque City

An avid fan has bought the Parañaque City home of late OPM icon Pilita Corrales, which was put up for sale earlier this year for a "negotiable" price of P26 million.

Pilita's daughter, actress-singer Jackie Lou Blanco, said she is "very happy" that the buyer is a huge fan of her mother, making the sale of the family home more meaningful for them.

"You know what, she's also a Bisaya. She's such a big, big fan of my mom," Jackie Lou said in an interview after the launch of National Artist Ricky Lee's latest book, "Quiapo Ilalim: Pagsusulat ng Iba't Ibang Daan," at Shangri-La Plaza mall.

The house, located in an exclusive subdivision named after Jackie Lou herself, was first listed in January this year and was described as being priced "below market value."

The property sits on a 466-square-meter lot, with a floor area of 453.57 square meters. The two-storey home has four spacious bedrooms, four bathrooms, a home office, and a four-car garage. It also comes with driver's and maids' quarters, as well as a solar water heater.

For Jackie Lou, selling the property made practical sense since she and her half-brother, Ramon Christopher, already have homes of their own.

"Wala na rin naman kasing titira sa bahay ng mom ko kasi all of us have our own. Yung adopted brother ko lang na si VJ ang nag-stay doon and the house is too big just for one person," she explained.

"Okay na rin. I'm happy na napunta ang house ng mom ko sa kapwa Visayan. She's such a big fan of mom. At least it will be well taken care of," she added.

Asked whether the buyer specifically purchased the property because of her admiration for Pilita, Jackie Lou was careful not to make assumptions.

"Maybe it's just a coincidence," she said.

Several other people were also interested in buying the property, but Jackie Lou felt that the eventual sale to the Visayan buyer was meant to happen.

"I think it's really meant for her," she said.

She added that the buyer has yet to move into the house as renovations are still ongoing.

Known as the "Asia's Queen of Songs," Pilita remains among beloved figure in Philippine entertainment. She is celebrated for her distinctive voice and renditions of classics such as "Kapantay Ay Langit," "Usahay," and "A Million Thanks to You," among other songs.

Pilita died peacefully in her sleep on April 12, 2025, at the age of 87.
