3 held in separate Parañaque police operations; gun, gambling bets seized

Three persons were arrested in separate police operations in Parañaque City on Friday night, Aug. 14, resulting in the seizure of an unlicensed revolver and cash used as bets in an illegal gambling game.
Police identified those arrested as Reggie, 46, of Barangay San Dionisio; Ricky, 50, of Barangay Tambo; and alias Delon, 36, a cook and resident of Bacoor City, Cavite.

Police said the two were caught playing “cara y cruz,” an illegal coin-tossing gambling game.
Officers recovered P970 in various denominations allegedly used as gambling bets, as well as three P1 coins reportedly used as flippers in the game.
A .38-caliber revolver loaded with one ammunition was also found in Ricky’s possession.
Meanwhile, San Dionisio police officers responded to a report from a concerned citizen about a man allegedly causing a disturbance and carrying a firearm along Baui Street in Tramo Dos.
The responding officers arrived at about 11:00 p.m. and found Reggie shouting in public. Police also noticed what appeared to be a firearm bulge at his waistline, leading to his arrest.
Ricky and Delon were charged with violating Presidential Decree 1602, or the law against illegal gambling, while Ricky also faces a separate charge under Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Reggie was charged with alarm and scandal under Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code and violation of RA 10591.
The arrests form part of the Parañaque police’s continuing patrol and enforcement operations against illegal activities and the unlawful possession of firearms.
