The future of fitness tracking is going analog—sort of
Garmin introduces its latest screenless health tracker as it opens its flagship store in the Philippines

These days, pursuing health and fitness goals doesn’t just require personalized physical training and a well-planned diet. For many, it also involves smart technology as a dependable companion.
We have seen it in the form of innovative gym equipment and other wearables, such as rings and smartwatches, designed to monitor health and wellness metrics. Smartwatches remain the most common, offering users a convenient way to track everything from heart rate and daily activity to sleep and exercise. But as consumers become more conscious of their relationship with technology, a new generation of wearables is taking a quieter approach—one that prioritizes health tracking without placing another screen on the wrist.

This is where Garmin’s newest offering steps in. Dubbed the Cirqa Smart Band, this latest health and fitness tracker is designed to collect data throughout the day and let you review everything later. The catch is that it doesn’t have a screen. With no notifications, it quietly records your data, which you can access via the Garmin Connect app with no subscription required.
“With its discreet design and trusted health and fitness tracking tools Garmin is known for, this smart band complements our lineup of popular smartwatches and wellness monitors, allowing users to transition smoothly between their Garmin devices throughout the day,” says Susan Lyman, Garmin vice president of Consumer Sales and Marketing. “Plus, with no subscription required, Cirqa Smart Band helps you stay on top of your health and fitness goals—and makes a thoughtful gift for others who want to do the same.”
Think of it as an analog approach, sort of, to a modern health and fitness tracker. It is a fabric band one can wear on the wrist or arm and monitors heart rate, stress, sleep stages, workouts and activity, and recovery time, among others.
The Cirqa Smart Band is one of the things Garmin highlighted when it unveiled its flagship store in the Philippines last July 30 at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. To note, the store isn’t just the biggest one in the country but also the largest flagship store in Southeast Asia.

Much like the Cirqa Smart Band, the store features a lot of new experiences for fans of the brand to try. Among its highlights is the Garmin Golf Lab, a dedicated space equipped with golf simulators that allows golfers to experience performance insights through real-time data. Cycling enthusiasts can also explore Garmin's Cycling Ecosystem, featuring an integrated setup of cycling computers and wearables that demonstrates how Garmin technologies work together to support every ride.

“People will have a good experience in trying all the products here,” Sky Chen, Garmin Southeast Asia regional director, tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “We can bring all the products we have here, from the simulated golf experience to the smallest smartwatch in the world (Garmin Lily 2) and the ultrathin GPS fitness smartwatch (Venu X1).”
Visitors can also explore Garmin's latest innovations, including the recently launched Forerunner 170 and Forerunner 70, alongside Garmin's broader portfolio of fitness, wellness, outdoor, and lifestyle products.
“This flagship store is more than a place to shop. It's a space where people can experience Garmin products firsthand, connect with the community, and find inspiration to pursue their goals,” Sky says. “Whether you're training for your next race, improving your golf game, exploring the outdoors, or simply looking to live a healthier lifestyle, we want this store to be a destination for the growing Garmin community in the Philippines.”
The Cirqa Smart Band will be available beginning Aug. 14 at Garmin Brand Stores, Garmin Specialty Stores, The Loop, and Garmin's official e-commerce platforms.
