Car owner catches man stealing P103K vehicle part

A 35-year-old man was arrested after a car owner caught him allegedly stealing a Bosch Automotive Control Unit worth P103,850 from his parked Ford Ecosport in Barangay Sta. Lucia, Novaliches, Quezon City, Thursday afternoon, Aug. 13.
The suspect, identified only as alias “JO,” was caught inside the vehicle on Teachers Street at around 3 p.m. on the same day.
The victim was walking toward his vehicle when he spotted the suspect taking the automotive control unit.
He immediately sought help from Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSO), who apprehended the suspect on Aug. 13, and recovered the stolen item.
The suspect, a resident of Barangay Sta. Lucia, was turned over to Fairview Police Station (PS 5) for investigation and proper disposition.
A complaint for theft is being prepared for inquest proceedings before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD), under Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio, reminded motorists to keep their vehicles locked, avoid leaving valuables inside parked vehicles, and install appropriate security devices to help prevent theft and other property-related crimes.
