80 houses destroyed in Zamboanga fire

ZAMBOANGA CITY- Some 80 houses were destroyed here when a fire swept through Cambodia Purok 1, Sangali at dawn on Friday, August 14.
The fire started at 1:21am and swept through the densely-packed neighborhood where houses are made of light materials.
The fire reached the third alarm and was placed under control at 2:44am. It was extinguished an hour later.
The Bureau of Fire Protection initially assessed the damage at P1.44-million.
The City Social Welfare and Development office is conducting its assessment of the situation. Initial data showed that around 100 families were affected by the fire.
