Wilbert Ross, Bea Binene to test box-office pull with 'Pee Mak'
By Ian Ureta
Wilbert Ross and Bea Binene are now taking their popular “WilBea” pairing to the big screen.
The two will star in the Philippine remake of the Thai horror-comedy “Pee Mak,” marking their first movie together after working on the Viva One series “Golden Scenery of Tomorrow.”
The original “Pee Mak” is a 2013 Thai hit directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun and starring Mario Maurer and Davika Hoorne. It combined horror, comedy and romance and was inspired by the Thai legend of Mae Nak Phra Khanong.
Based on the poster that Viva Films just dropped on social media, joining Ross and Binene in the Filipino version are Jairus Aquino, Vandolph Quizon, TJ Valderrama and Cup of Joe lead vocalist Gian Bernardino.
A theatrical release date has yet to be announced.
Note that WilBea's growing popularity has also fueled speculation among fans that they are secretly dating.
Neither Ross nor Binene has confirmed being in a relationship, but fans have continued to read into their closeness and interactions both onscreen and offscreen.
Now, their first movie together will give them a chance to see how far that following can go at the box office.
