TWICE faces alarming shake-up as Chaeyoung leaves JYP after Jeongyeon
TWICE is facing an alarming development as Chaeyoung has become the second member of the K-pop group to leave JYP Entertainment, raising questions about the agency’s future relationship with the girl group.
After 14 years with JYP, Chaeyoung announced on Instagram on Aug. 13 that she is parting ways with the agency to pursue her solo career.
Despite the move, Chaeyoung assured fans that she will remain a member of TWICE and that her departure from JYP will not affect the group.
“I’m so excited to step into a new chapter and bring my new LIL FANTASY, a world where I can explore and build my music,” she said.
Chaeyoung also thanked JYP Entertainment and Team TWICE for supporting her throughout her 14-year journey with the company.
She made it clear that TWICE remains an important part of her life, saying, “Most of all, please know that nothing changes with TWICE.”
The development is particularly notable as Chaeyoung is now the second TWICE member to leave JYP Entertainment for individual activities.
Jeongyeon previously parted ways with JYP and signed with Varo Entertainment to pursue acting.
With two members now leaving JYP while continuing their activities with TWICE, fans are closely watching what the changes could mean for the group’s future and its relationship with its longtime agency.
