The Philippine Orchid Society (POS) in celebration of its 80th anniversary presents the Flora Filipina Expo 2026 from August 19 to 23, 2026 at the Flower Garden, Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC) at Quezon City. POS President Susan Lee invites orchid lovers to come.
Central to the event: local and foreign participants (Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam) would showcase colorful orchid and ornamental plant competitive landscape exhibits highlighting outstanding orchid specimens and amazing ornamental plants shall be presented in their full glory.
Moreover, delegates from the Unites States, Japan, Ecuador, Peru and Malaysia committed participation in various capacities to further enjoin the occasion.
As for this horticultural event coinciding with the Waling waling blooming season, participants are in for a treat to see up close and personal the captivating intricate myriad beauty of the contrasting varieties of the endemic Philippines’ national orchid, the world famous Vanda sanderiana.
Featured activities are: Floral Arrangement Competition (August 21), proclamation of winners to the ongoing Orchid Essay Writing Competition (August 22) theme: Vanda sanderiana, “Queen of Philippine Orchid,” and the Orchids Painting Competition (August 22).
Furthermore, free daily lectures at the exhibition area will be held from 2:00-5:00 PM: August 21 – ABC’s of Orchid Growing; August 22 - Breeding with Philippine Vandaceous Species; August 23 -Practical Techniques of Growing Orchids for Hobbyists.
The exhibition area comes with a P100.00 entrance fee or P50.00 for senior citizens and students with ID.
However, at the Commercial Area which has free entrance, avid orchid collectors would have an array of options to purchase orchids and ornamental plants as sellers from: Ecuador, Japan, Malaysia, Peru, Taiwan and Thailand plus 42 local orchid and ornamental plant growers come together.
An equally vital component of this orchid extravaganza is the Flora Filipina Expo 2026 Conference with the theme:
“From Greenhouse to Green Economy” Building a Sustainable Philippine Orchid Industry, to be held at the QCX: Quezon City Experience Complex also at the sprawling QMC.
This 2-Day event comes with a P2,500 registration fee, which brings together: the academe, students, government technocrats, entrepreneurs, collectors and hobbyists for a common platform to share ideas and identify opportunities for shared interests that are incrementally beneficial to the entire industry.
