Western Visayas' July 2026 inflation rises to 7.8%

ILOILO CITY—Prices of basic goods and services in Western Visayas region continue to rise when the inflation rate was recorded at 7.8 percent in July 2026.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA-6) reported that the region’s inflation rate rose by 1.0 percent last month. In comparison, the inflation rate for June 2026 was at 6.8 percent.
“The uptrend in overall inflation in July 2026 was mainly influenced by the faster annual growth in the [price] index of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels commodity group,” said PSA-6 Regional Director Nida Amolar.
This index had an inflation rate of 7.3 percent in July 2026. In comparison, it was only 3.8 percent in June 2026.
Another contributing factor is the rise in the index price of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which was recorded at 6.8 percent from the 5.6 percent in June 2026.
For July 2026, the province of Antique had the highest inflation rate at 9.5 percent.
This was followed by Iloilo province at 9.3 percent.
The Province of Capiz recorded the lowest inflation rate last month at 4.1 percent.
There was also an inflation rate of 8.0 percent in Aklan province; 7.2 percent in Iloilo City; and 4.6 percent in Guimaras.
