- Vice Ganda has signed a creative partnership with Manny V. Pangilinan's MediaQuest Holdings, just days after renewing his ABS-CBN contract.
The agreement was signed on Aug. 12 at The Lighthouse in Meralco Center, headquarters of the MVP Group.
Under the partnership, Vice Ganda will develop content for MediaQuest platforms, expanding his presence beyond his long-standing work with ABS-CBN.
Vice recalled Pangilinan telling him, "We have what you don't have, but you have what we don't have," referring to the strengths each side brings to the collaboration.
The comedian said the shared vision between both sides ultimately convinced him to come on board.
The partnership comes just days after Vice renewed his contract with ABS-CBN. He said the network supported the deal because both sides share the goal of strengthening television amid the growing dominance of streaming platforms.
"Pinayagan naman nila ako dahil nauunawaan nila ang layunin namin sa partnership na ito and that is to further strengthen TV, to offer more content for audiences. Given that ABS-CBN share the same vision naman din in that we want to continue giving life to TV, pumayag sila," he said.
Vice admitted he was initially hesitant to accept the offer, recalling his disappointment after TV5 removed "It's Showtime" from its lineup in 2023.
"Inaamin ko medyo sumama loob ko pero diba in this industry naman we don't burn bridges. So ako, dahil nagustuhan ko ang layunin nila, I eventually said yes," he said.
As for what viewers can expect from the partnership in terms of actual projects, Vice said discussions are still in the early stages.
"Actually, to be honest, wala pa, hindi ko pa alam. It's too early to tell. Pero marami na akong ideas and I'm really excited na maupuan namin ito soon," he said.
