A former police officer now listed in the high value target (HVT) roster was arrested on Tuesday, Aug 11, following the implementation of the search warrant in Iriga City, Camarines Sur, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) stated.
During the search at the place of alias “Jorams’’, authorities seized 16 heat-sealed transparent sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu approximately worth P544,000.
Aside from the estimated 80 grams of shabu, eight additional open sachets containing traces of suspected illegal drugs, a glass tooter, four lighters, pieces of tape, unused transparent plastic sachets, a roll of aluminum foil, a pencil case, a black leather coin purse, a blue box and a jewelry box were also recovered.
In a statement, the PDEA said that alias “Jorams,” was dismissed from the police service due to “AWOL (Absent Without Official Leave).’’
Alias “Jorams’’ faces charges for violation of Sections 11 (Illegal Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and 12 (Possession of Equipment, Instrument, Apparatus and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’
