Man breaks into San Juan home, steals gadgets, cash valuables

A 26-year-old man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a San Juan home through a bathroom window during heavy rain and stealing gadgets, cash, and other valuables.

The San Juan City Police Station said the incident was reported on Aug. 10 after the homeowner noticed that several personal belongings were missing from her residence. She immediately reported it to the police.
Based on the initial investigation, the suspect allegedly gained entry into the victim’s house on Xavier Street in Barangay Greenhills by forcibly opening a comfort room window.
Authorities identified and located the suspect through CCTV footage, which showed him wearing a white jacket and black pants while climbing a wall near the creek-side portion at the back of the victim's house.
The suspect was traced to Antipolo, prompting police officers to coordinate with the Antipolo City Police Station for a follow-up operation, which led to his arrest and the recovery of the stolen items.
San Juan police said the recovered items included an Apple iPad mini and a Nintendo Switch OLED.
Other items reported stolen were prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, cash, a backpack, and several Philippine passports and identification cards. The stolen properties were estimated to be worth approximately P162,500.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said that the suspect had previously been arrested in connection with another robbery case.
Verification through the Crime Information, Reporting, and Analysis System confirmed that he had an existing criminal record.
The suspect is now in police custody and faces robbery charges under Article 293 of the Revised Penal Code.
