NLEX import DeQuan Jones was in good spirits a day after suffering a gruesome injury in his team’s 118-111 overtime win over TNT on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
In a social media post by NLEX team governor Ronald Dulatre, Jones, whose right leg is in a heavy cast, posed for a photo with the Road Warriors executive while on his hospital bed.
“Dequan Jones is in high spirits. Hoping and praying for your speedy recovery buddy,” wrote Dulatre in a post.
X-ray results confirmed that Jones suffered an ankle dislocation with medial malleolar fracture and complete fractured fibula, which he sustained after TNT big man Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser inadvertently fell to his legs following their mid-air collision.
Jones' ankle was successfully put back into place at the Cardinal Santos Hospital although he is still set to undergo surgery to repair the fractured lower leg.
After the surgery, the 36-year-old Jones will undergo therapy and rehabilitation and won’t be available for at least five months.
