Two fishermen rescued after motor banca capsizes off Agno, Pangasinan

AGNO, Pangasinan — Two fishermen were rescued by the Coast Guard and local responders after their motor banca capsized in the vicinity waters off Barangay Boboy in Agno, Pangasinan on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
Personnel of the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Agno, in coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and local fisherfolk, launched a search and rescue operation after the incident was reported.
The Philippine Coast Guard reminded fisherfolk and operators of small watercraft to always check their vessels before sailing and monitor sea conditions.

The Coast Guard learned that the fishermen encountered engine trouble while seeking shelter near the shoreline.
Due to strong waves their motor banca capsized.
The two fishermen were successfully rescued and brought safely ashore.
Both were then turned over to the MDRRMO Agno for further medical assessment.
