Remulla leads distribution of 911 emergency response motorcyles
TACLOBAN CITY -- Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla led the distribution of 50 emergency 911 motorcycles on Tuesday (August 11) at the Regional Headquarters of the Police Regional Office 8 (PRO8) in Palo, Leyte.
The scooters are intended for tourist police units across six provincial and two city police units in the region as part of the DILG's continuing rollout of Unified 911 response capabilities across the country.
The additional mobility will help police personnel, working alongside local government units and other emergency responders, reach people faster during emergencies, particularly in areas where every minute of response time matters.
He also lauded the PNP urging them to continue enhancing its operational capability.
"I'm very proud of the PNP. For the first time in its history, it has the highest performance ranking and is one of the most trusted agencies in the Philippines. We mean well. We mean business. We are serious," he shared.
Meanwhile, Secretary Remulla also led a meeting with the DILG-8 and other top officials in Eastern Visayas.
Yesterday, the secretary distributed 20 units in Bicol, while 20 more units will be distributed in Makati City.#
