Rosalinda Faustino contributed two bronze medals for Team Philippines in the Asian Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Monday, Aug. 10.
The Zamboanga City native finished at the podium in the women’s junior 57kg, adding more medals in the PH team’s war chest.
She struggled in snatch after lifting 83 kg to finish fourth, but managed to claim the bronze in clean & jerk with a lift of 105 kg, eventually finishing with a bronze in total with 188 kg.
Kazakhstan’s Snezhana Kashkarova bagged the gold medal with a total lift of 200 kg, after finishing with a silver in snatch (88 kg) and a gold in clean & jerk (112 kg).
Uzbekistan’s Marjona Abdumatalova came in silver with a total lift of 188 kg after topping snatch (90 kg) and finishing silver in clean & jerk (109 kg).
The PH team hiked its medal tally in the juniors division to three gold, three silver and six bronze medals, apart from collecting 10 gold, three silver and three bronze medals in the youth class after four days of competition.
