Pasay City signs deal to employ senior citizens

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano has forged a partnership with a private sector employer to provide job opportunities to qualified senior citizens in the city.
The agreement was signed on Aug. 10 as part of the city government’s continuing efforts to give Pasayeño senior citizens opportunities to remain productive and contribute to the workforce.
“We are truly grateful to KFC for opening your doors to our senior citizens. This partnership is more than simply providing jobs. It is about recognizing their experience, their discipline, their work ethic, and the value that they can still bring to the workplace,” the mayor said.
Rubiano said the initiative is part of her long-standing advocacy for senior citizens, which she had pursued even during her years in Congress.
She noted that she had helped advance legislation aimed at providing older Filipinos with opportunities to continue working and contributing to society.
The mayor added that the partnership reflects the city government’s commitment to recognizing the skills, experience, and continuing contribution of senior citizens.
The signing was also held as part of activities marking Rubiano’s birthday.
