Mactan-Cebu airport to have more international flights this year

CEBU CITY– There will be more flights to overseas destinations this year at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).

Starting this November, the country’s second busiest airport will be operating more direct flights to Vietnam, Japan and China.

Vietnamese budget carrier Vietjet announced that it will launch its direct service between Cebu- Hanoi and Cebu-Ho Chi Minh on Nov. 10 and Nov. 11, respectively. 

Philippine low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific will also be launching new routes between Cebu and Shanghai, China and Cebu and Nagoya, Japan. 

The Gokongwei-owned airline will also resume its Cebu-Ho Chi Minh-Cebu route. The route was suspended last April after fuel jet supply was affected by the conflict in the Middle East.

MCIA's international connectivity currently serves 19 overseas destinations, including Brisbane in Australia; Hong Kong; Osaka and Tokyo in Japan; Singapore; and Taipei in Taiwan.
