Heart Evangelista is walking back her much-talked-about comment about choosing money over friends.
The actress addressed the remark on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” after the program revisited her earlier appearance on “The People Have Spoken.”
Heart had previously been asked to choose between money and friends, with her answer quickly becoming a talking point.
Asked to explain herself, Heart said she was referring to the difference between having a lot of people around and having a few people she can truly call friends.
“I'd rather have a handful of friends than an army of acquaintances,” she said.
She also admitted that she would change her earlier answer.
“To be honest, for me, I'll take that back,” Heart said.
This time, she said she would choose her family and real friends over having a lot of money.
“But if I can have both, that's OK, too,” she added.
So perhaps the issue was not really about money versus friendship after all.
For Heart, the number of people in one's circle matters less than the people who remain close enough to be considered family.
And while she may be taking back that earlier answer, she certainly isn't turning down the idea of having both money and genuine people around her.
