Elijah Canlas may have chosen not to talk about Miles Ocampo or directly address reports about their alleged breakup, but the actor did admit that he is currently going through a difficult period in his life.
Talk about their alleged split only surfaced through the grapevine in recent days. Neither Elijah nor Miles has confirmed or denied the reports, while Elijah's recent sighting in La Union with actress Thea Astley only added to the speculation.
In an interview, Elijah told us how he is dealing with it, mainly by keeping himself busy.
"It’s hard to ignore those blessings,” he said.
Indeed.
The actor is currently out with his newest film, "HB2ME," an action-comedy suspense film where he stars alongside award-winning actor John Arcilla, Alexa Miro, among others.
But with his birthday just around the corner on Aug. 16, we asked Elijah how he plans to celebrate it.
"I'll be working. I'm leaving the country tomorrow for work actually, so..." he shared.
Busy as he is, he could only hope to spend some time with his family when he returns.
We then pointed out how he seemed to be taking everything in stride despite the rumors.
"I'm okay but it's not the happiest moment of my life," he admitted.
It was an unusually candid answer.
Still, he did not dwell on it.
"I'm just living life and focusing on work and focusing on the people around me,” he said.
For now, Elijah seems content to let the rumors remain just that, rumors.
Written and directed by Veronica Velasco, "HB2ME" opens in cinemas nationwide on Aug. 19.
