Awra Briguela opens up about gender transition, plans for breast augmentation

Awra Briguela recently got candid about her gender transition, sharing that she already consulted an endocrinologist about it.

During her Aug. 7 appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Awra revealed that she began hormone therapy early this year as part of her transition.

“This year po talaga, nag-start po ako mag-transition,” she said.

Awra underwent rhinoplasty in July, her first surgery.

She clarified the procedure was not prompted by insecurity. She maintained it was something she had carefully considered to enhance her facial features.

Looking ahead, Awra revealed that she is planning to undergo breast augmentation in December, something she considers as another important step in her transition.

She also hopes to eventually undergo gender-affirming surgery.

Awra said becoming a transgender woman has been a dream since childhood and that she never experienced a difficult coming-out process.

“Bata pa lang po ako, talagang alam ko na darating ako sa point na ‘yon,” she said.

She credited her parents, particularly her father, for accepting her as she is, while growing up.

As to why she is doing it now, she maintained, “It's just hinahanap ko yung perfect time kung kailan."
