5 nabbed in Parañaque drug bust; P850K shabu, gun seized

Five drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation that yielded P850,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City, early Tuesday, Aug. 11.
Parañaque City Police chief Col. Nicolas Piñon identified the suspects as alias Mar, 51, listed as a High-Value Individual (HVI); Arron, 45; Monnette, 23; alias Sonny, 61; and Camille, 42.
Piñon said members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), conducted the entrapment operation at around 2 a.m. inside a residential unit in Barangay San Dionisio, leading to the arrest of the five suspects.
Police recovered several sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 125 grams.
The seized drugs were placed under police custody for proper documentation and examination.
Also seized from Mar was a Taurus 9mm pistol, one 9mm magazine, and four live 9mm rounds.
The firearm and ammunition will undergo verification and examination as part of the investigation.
Police said the five suspects are detained at the Parañaque City Police custodial facility and will face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Mar will also face a separate charge for alleged violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, in connection with the seized firearm and ammunition.
