Sharon Cuneta's daughter, Frankie Pangilinan, makes acting debut
Sharon Cuneta is one proud mom as daughter Frankie Pangilinan takes on her first acting role in the upcoming historical biopic “EDJOP.”
Sharon shared the news on Instagram, urging her followers and young Filipinos to support the film as it goes on a nationwide campus conversation tour.
“My Kakie’s first movie!!! Hope you can all support it,” Sharon wrote.
Frankie is part of the ensemble cast led by Jodi Sta. Maria and Elijah Canlas, who plays Jopson. The film also stars Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Cedrick Juan, Teroy Guzman, Gab Pangilinan and Issa Litton.
In the trailer, Frankie is seen as the young Joy Jopson, the wife of Canlas’ EdJop.
Director and co-writer Katski Flores, along with the cast, will take the film to universities as part of its campus conversation tour. They are set to talk about Jopson’s life, how the film was made, and the social issues tackled in the story.
The tour will stop at Southwestern University PHINMA in Cebu on Aug. 26, Ateneo de Zamboanga University on Aug. 27, UP Diliman on Sept. 1, UST and FEU Manila on Sept. 2, Ateneo de Manila University on Sept. 4, and Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro on Sept. 11.
